Heart-Healthy Exercise
A sedentary lifestyle can considerably elevate your risk for cardiovascular disease. If you aren’t already physically active, it’s time to start exercising! If you’re between the ages of 18 and 65, you should strive for 30 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity five days a week. Not only will the exercise do your heart good, it will also make you feel better, improve your stamina and relieve stress.

It’s important to remember that while occasional exercise is better than none at all, you must maintain a minimum amount of physical activity (see above) to obtain the health benefits. And, while walking and running are standbys, swimming, cycling, skiing, aerobic and many other activities can be just as beneficial. The key is making whatever exercise you choose part of your routine and sticking with it.
