Everything Your Heart Desires

CANM Opens Peripheral Vascular Care Center

04/01/2009.

With a desire to help people with blood vessel diseases outside of the heart, Cardiology Associates of North Mississippi, in conjunction with North Mississippi Medical Center Heart Institute, have developed a one-stop, comprehensive vascular medicine program. CANM’s Vascular Medicine Program employs a multidisciplinary approach to the management of vascular disease by bringing together health care professionals from several related specialties to coordinate patients' care. This program integrates the diagnosis, treatment, follow-up and management of patients with vascular disease; in turn, the program provides these patients the opportunity to receive the most comprehensive and efficient care. In addition, timely communication with the patient and referring physician will be coordinated by this multidisciplinary Vascular Medicine Program.

CANM’s Vascular Medicine Program is lead by Dr. Francisco Sierra who completed his Cardiology training at Harvard Medical School, and went on to complete a vascular medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. He is presently board-eligible through the American Board of Vascular Medicine.
The clinic is staffed by a full-time vascular nurse practitioner dedicated to the vascular medicine program.

The Peripheral Vascular Medicine Care Center is also supported by a qualified team of registered vascular and CT technologists, as well as non-invasive cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, and surgeons skilled in endovascular and surgical vascular interventions.

The Peripheral Vascular Medicine Care Center is located within the Cardiology Associates of North Mississippi complex at 499 Gloster Creek Village, Suite A-2, Tupelo, MS. Endovascular and surgical procedures are performed at North Mississippi Medical Center, Tupelo, MS.
